There is weak evidence that ascorbate given intravenously may improve the quality of life of cancer patients and reduce the toxicity of chemotherapy. We have identified potential serious toxicity of intravenous ascorbate. TheOncologist2015;20:210–223

Preliminary evidence suggests that IVC may have the potential to improve tumor response and survival time, as well as improve QOL and side effects of chemotherapy or cancer-related symptoms; however, there is an urgent need for rigorous and well-controlled evaluations of IVC as an adjunctive treatment for cancer before definite conclusions can be drawn.
